Master Study Programme GARDEN AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

Graduate profile

Graduates are trained in the areas of urban and peri-urban design, rural and landscape planning and creating of sustainable sites. They acquire a comprehensive knowledge of landscape theory and applied plant biology with a focus on their combinations and aesthetic composition. They are able to analyse, evaluate and creatively design different types of the green areas in urban environment, e.g. parks, squares, school and hospital sites, recreational forests, propose the revitalisation of historical parks and brownfield areas and cultural landscape. They are skilled to construct small architecture, draw technical details and present their proposals by using 2D and 3D graphic software.

Employability of graduates

The graduate is comprehensively prepared to practice as an Authorised Landscape Architect after completing the assigned practice length and passing the authorisation exams. They can undertake business activities in the area of design and creation of green infrastructure and green open spaces of different scales in the villages, cities and in the landscape. They are prepared to perform as conceptual staff in specialised institutions and public authorities from the municipal, up to the state level, as well as in third-sector organisations with an environmental focus. Further education of the graduate opens opportunities to work at teaching and research positions at universities and in research institutions.
