The department activities and the research project targets are focused on the analysis of the climate change impacts on various areas of agricultural production, hydrological balance in the landscape, mathematical modelling of humidity regime in the plant´s root zone and the loss of soil caused by water erosion, water resources protection, soil protection and developing of standards in this area. Furthermore, the research activity is aimed at the impact of climate change on the landscape potential and the proposals of possible management, assessment of emissions of selected greenhouse gasses in the agricultural sector and proposals for their reduction.
Activities:
- Monitoring and soil humidity measures
- Erosion control measures and soil protection
- Soil analyses such as hydro physical characteristics, hydro limits and grain analyses
- Determination of hygiene protection zones of water resources
- Elaboration of climate and hydrological studies
- Providing meteorological and hydrological data from the Nitra River Basin
