This study focuses on the optimisation of agricultural resources for soil improvement on a farm in southwest Spain, where tomato, maize and broccoli are currently grown. After a soil analysis, edaphic improvements are proposed, in addition to the correct crop rotation in order to make the best use of all agricultural resources and obtain better yields.

Aridity conditions in semi-arid lands with warm climates are key variables that need to be assessed in order to properly manage water and plan to minimise the threat of desertification. This study analyses the spatial distribution of aridity in Extremadura, southwestern Spain, using the Martonne index for a historical period (1971-2005) and three future periods (2006-2035; 2036-2065; 2066-2095).
